The Heavenly "Broken Arrow":
Isaiah 43 Thus saith the Lord, which maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters; Which bringeth forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power; they shall lie down together, they shall not rise: they are extinct, they are quenched as tow. Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
Pathway in the Sea

Psalm 77:19
Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

22Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world?
Sean looked at her calmly. "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want..."
"Your shepherd?" She interrupted his prayer with a laugh. "Oh, I can help with that!" A wave of her hand and some odd words caused a flicker of purplish light around Sean.
Sean looked puzzled at first, then shocked as thick, shaggy white fur started to appear on his arms.
"What are you doing to me!? Please stop it!"
His clothing crumbled away into dust and revealed to the crowd, a trim, muscular body that was starting to become stocky and bear-like even as the shaggy fur coat of white and dark gray fur spread itself down his chest.
His chest deepened and lengthened, and his arms became a new pair of legs as they grew in length to match his shrinking legs. Some of the audience chuckled a bit as Sean’s privates were covered up by a layer of shaggy fur-covered skin. He wavered and then fell onto all fours, his still-human head awash with emotion as it now sat on the neck of an otherwise shaggy canine body.
"Oh yes!!!" He oddly screamed, not at afraid anymore as his face pushed out into a muzzle.
"Woof! Woof!" His voice became the loud woofing of a sheepdog’s.
Thick, shaggy white and light gray fur grew down his now canine face and hid the last thing to change- his eyes. His eyes still stayed the same shade of blue, but they became a pair of canine eyes.
"There we go! Our religious fanatic said that his Lord was his shepherd, so he’s now a friendly Old English Sheepdog just willing to herd his master’s flock." Madame Illusia fondly rubs the sheepdog’s head for a moment before turning back to the audience.
"Are any of you out there brave enough to come down here be his friend after what I have done to him? For whoever can befriend him and not be tempted to join him as a fellow canine is free to take him home as their pet. Is there anyone out there with a will to resist the temptation of becoming someone’s best friend?"
Psalm 23
We returned for a two-night stay circa 2003.
This past month we took a coastal roadtrip that took us through Redding and the Shasta area up through Oregon, out to the coast at Newport with a stay at Agate Beach,
then south along the Coast Route with an overnight at Crescent City, culminating in a three night stay at The Inn at Schoolhouse Creek.
Awaiting us on the table in our cottage was a complimentary bottle of local wine.

14And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;Jefferson Davis Ball1
Comment by DGB: It is an assumption that James C. Ball is the father of Jefferson Davis Ball. Jefferson Davis Ball was born in Madison County, New York in 1826. He named his oldest daughter Julia for his sister. James Ball was living in Brookfield, Madison, New York in the 1830 census and had a son in the right age group to be Jefferson. He also had a daughter named Julia. End of comment.3 He appeared on the census of 31 October 1850 at Placerville, El Dorado Co., CA; "Jefferson" age 23, b. NY, miner for gold.4 He appeared on the census of 8 July 1860 at Anderson, Mendocino Co., CA; "J. D." age 33, b. NY, farmer, with wife Melissa, step-daughters Ella and Ethel, and daughters Julia, Mary, and Martha.5 He appeared on the census of 1 August 1870 at Anderson, Mendocino Co., CA; "Jefferson D." age 43, b. NY, farmer, with wife Melissa, step-daughters Ella and Ethel, and children Mary, Martha, Jay, Chardon, and Emmett.6 He appeared on the census of 4 June 1880 at Anderson, Mendocino Co., CA; "Jefferson D." age 53, b. NY, farmer, with wife Melissa and children Martha, Jay, Chardon, Burnham, Dreme, and Emily.7 From an obituary in the "Mendocino Beacon": On Sunday last J.D. Ball died at his home in Anderson Valley, aged 74 years. Death was caused by pneumonia. Deceased was born in Madison County, New York, lived some years in Wisconsin and came to California in 1850, crossing the plains with a horse team. He settled in Anderson Valley in 1852 and has resided there ever since, engaging in fruit -growing and stock -raising. Mr. Ball has been one of the county's foremost citizens and was universally respected. His wife passed away some years ago but he leaves a number of grown children, to whom is extended the sympathy of many friends.2 From an obituary from the "Fort Bragg Advocate": He resided with his parents on a farm until April, 1844, when he went to Wisconsin, where he followed farming until 1850, when he immigrated to California, crossing the plains with horse teams. He arrived in Hangtown (Placerville) in August after a four months trip. After spending two years in the mines, Mr. Ball came to Mendocino county and settled in Anderson Valley in August, 1852. He owns eight hundred acres of land about a mile north from Booneville, where he follows farming and wool- growing. For the past two years he has kept a state station on the line running from Cloverdale to Mendocino City. Mr. Ball married, January 1, 1855, a young widow, a native of Vermont, with two children. They have eight children, four sons and four daughters.2

(Tag it 'n' bag it, it's an agate! Agate cannot be confused with sardonyx as that is what it is. The Lord prospered our search for agates, guiding us to Quarry Cove below the Yaquina Head Lighthouse, and inspiring people to give some to Nina at Smelt Sands Beach. For her birthday, restricted as she was to the road level while I clambered down to the beach in search of rocks at a spot called Strawberry Hill, she found a neat pile of agates on a bench. After checking with everyone present and finding no claims, she signaled her find and I abandoned my efforts on the beach. Check out our haul.)

Psalm 77:11-20
12I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
13Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
14Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
15Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
16The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.
17The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.
18The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
19Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.
20Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
