The Jura is a limestone range running from Lake Geneva to the Rhine river. This area makes up about 12% of Switzerland's land area. Located about 700 meters (2,297 ft) above sea level, this region is characterized by a limestone highland with deep river valleys.
The limestone rock in the Jura is a Jurassic period rock with numerous fossils and dinosaur tracks. The name Jurassic actually refers to the Jura region where these fossils were studied at the end of the 18th century.^[11] The Jura is considered one of the most important sites for dinosaur footprints in the world. In one area near the village of Courtedoux, over 1,500 footprints were discovered in between 2002 and 2004 with an estimated 4,000-5,000 footprints still undiscovered.^[12]



aaaaah... just one more thing, Mr. Spielberg....... if da dinosaur tracks were made in soft material, how were the impressions preserved while the material hardened? Wouldn't wind or tides or other fluid phenomena have wiped dem out? ...unless dey were covered by some protective material in the interim? Aaaah... can you explain what the talking mountains are telling us? I'm kinda puzzled...

PRESERVATION ISSUES

The Moreno Hill Formation theropod tracks exhibit fine details

that require further study. The fossils are at risk from environmental degradation

and the finer material containing the track impressions will eventually

peel away from the firmer underlying sandstone. The tracks are

also at risk from vandalism. Efforts are currently underway to evaluate

potential preservation options in a challenging wilderness setting. At a

minimum the tracks will be cast following preparation and additional

documentation.

Gatesy (2003), Lockley (1998) and Milan (2006) have discussed

the various mechanisms and factors that affect track imprint preservation,

and the Moreno Hill tracks appear to present examples of several preservation

styles. Several of the "small-sized" tracks noted on Figures 2 and 3

appear as underprints exposed after weathering removed the overlying finer

mudstone to expose the underlying firmer sandstone. The underprints appear

as relatively unsegmented fusiform shapes created by medial-to-distal

digit impressions, suggesting a highly digitigrade posture of the track maker.

The better-preserved Moreno Hill tracks shown in Figures 4 and 5

show (but to a lesser degree) features described by Gatesy (2003) and Milan

(2006), where relatively deep tracks were made in softer, fine-grained substrates.

These include the displacement and subsequent in-filling of fluidrich

sediment as the pes was set down and later retracted upwards. The

track impression shown here in Figure 5 shows some of the en-echelon

sedimentary fabric within the impression typical of such "deep tracks" and

may also preserve an impression of the digit II claw formed as sediment

filled the track during/following retraction of the pes.


First Dinosaur Tracks from the Arabian Peninsula (excerpted)

Background

The evolutionary history of Mesozoic terrestrial vertebrates from the Arabian Peninsula is virtually unknown. Despite vast exposures of rocky outcrops, only a handful of fossils have yet been described from the region. Here we report a multi-taxon dinosaur track assemblage near Madar village, 47 km north of Sana'a, Republic of Yemen. This represents the first dinosaur tracksite from the Arabian Peninsula, and the only multi-taxon dinosaur ichnosite in the Middle East.

Discussion

The earliest sauropods are described from Upper Triassic of South Africa [24], indicating that the initial diversification of the group likely occurred before the separation of much of Pangaea, and as with the ornithopods, certainly predated the breakup of Gondwana. By the mid-Jurassic, sauropod dinosaurs are known from either body fossils or footprints from every major continental landmass except Antarctica [25], indicating a more or less global distribution.

Since 1987, when Brian Atwater of the USGS first reported finding evidence for repeated subsidence of coastal lowlands in Washington, scientists have searched for further geologic traces of great subduction earthquakes in the Northwest. Shortly after Atwater's discovery, researchers found evidence of a great tsunami in sand deposits along coastal areas of the Northwest.
Joanne Bourgeois, a researcher from the University of Washington, reported that sand sheets covering the buried wetlands along coastal Washington and Oregon closely resemble sand sheets deposited on lowlands of southern Chile by the great tsunami that followed the 1960 Chilean earthquake. Mary Reinhart, also from the University of Washington, studied the thickness of the Washington sand deposits and concluded that they are the result of what was likely a 10 meter tsunami along Washington's coast.
These sand sheets are layers of ocean sand in between layers of soil and mud. Atwater, Bourgeois, Rinehart and others believe that these sand sheets were created when a series of tsunami waves washed over subsided regions of the coastline and deposited sand, which later became covered over in mud.
Researchers considered the possibility that these sand deposits might be the result of nonseismic processes such as storms. However, Bourgeois and Reinhart's studies of these buried sediments and computer generated model simulations concluded that gigantic waves are the best explanation.

(Update: 08-09-09: On the History Channel's "Prehistoric Monsters Revealed" (erred at 9 a.m. 08-02-09) the paleon-tell-lie-gists said that in 99.9% of the cases, specimens are not preserved as fossils. Preservation in sediments is very rare. I'm somewhat puzzled by these statements. Aren't carcasses much more durable than footprints? If carcass preservation is extremely rare, wouldn't footprint preservation be almost, or totally, non-existent? They sound more like parrots than scientists.)

In this video clip, the "scientists" admit that the so-called "geologic timescale" is formulated to accommodate the evolutionary narrative, not the hard evidence itself. Yet they laud the adoption of the Ediacaran Period as equivalent to the discovery of a new planet.

Geologic time scale (excerpted)

The identification of strata by the fossils they contained, pioneered by William Smith, Georges Cuvier, Jean d'Omalius d'Halloy, and Alexandre Brogniart in the early 19th century, enabled geologists to divide Earth history more precisely. It also enabled them to correlate strata across national (or even continental) boundaries. If two strata (however distant in space or different in composition) contained the same fossils, chances were good that they had been laid down at the same time.

Ediacaran (excerpted)

The Ediacaran Period ( /ˌiːdiˈækərən/; named after the Ediacara Hills of South Australia) is the last geological period of the Neoproterozoic Era and of theProterozoic Eon, immediately preceding the Cambrian Period, the first period of the Paleozoic Era and of the Phanerozoic Eon. Its status as an official geological period was ratified in 2004 by the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS), making it the first new geological period declared in 120 years.^{[5][6][7.....( Punctuation Periods. We should insert these into the Geologic Timescale. Can I have the Nobel Prize in Geology? Never mind. I prefer to keep my soul.)}

Nevertheless, the definitions of the lower and upper boundaries of the Ediacaran on the basis of chemostratigraphy and ichnofossils are disputable.^[14][16]

Cap carbonates generally have a restricted geographic distribution (due to specific conditions of their precipitation) and usually siliciclastic sediments replace laterally the cap carbonates in a rather short distance and cap carbonates do not occur above every tillite elsewhere in the world. The C-isotope chemostratigraphic characteristics obtained for contemporaneous cap carbonates in different parts of the world may be variable in a wide range owing to different degrees of secondary alteration of carbonates, dissimilar criteria used for selection of the least altered samples, and, as far as the C-isotope data are concerned, due to primary lateral variations of δ ^l3C_carb in the upper layer of the ocean.^[14][17] Furthermore, Oman presents in its stratigraphic record a large negative carbon isotope excursion, within the Shuram^[18] Formation that is clearly away from any glacial evidence^[19] strongly questioning systematic association of negative δ ^l3C_carb excursion and glacial events.^[20] As to the Treptichnus pedum, a reference ichnofossil for the lower boundary of the Cambrian, its usage for the stratigraphic detection of this boundary is always risky because of the occurrence of very similar trace fossils belonging to the Treptichnids group well below the T. pedum in Namibia, Spain and Newfoundland, and possibly, in the western United States. The stratigraphic range of T. pedum overlaps the range of the Ediacaran fossils in Namibia, and probably in Spain.^[14][21]

Questioning or doubting or flat-out disbelieving the Darwinian account of the origins of mankind (which is the actual belligerent aim of the entire "theory") is categorized as anti-intellectual. The consensus among teachers of Bible prophecy is that the woman in this passage is the Jewish People. From Genesis to Revelation, the conflict is between what God has said and what the serpent has said to contradict Him, and the condemnation or salvation of Mankind is contingent upon which narrative is believed. The serpent cast out of his mouth water as a FLOOD. The earth opened her mouth and swallowed the FLOOD. The vast majority of Jews are of a secular, Darwinist world view because of a flood of voices affirming that narrative of origins. The fossil evidence, which is testimony coming out of the Earth, is actually contradicting Darwin, but as we see in the video,"experts" slavishly and dogmatically adhere to the Darwinist narrative. But what does the global fossil evidence unanimously indicate? Catastrophe and mass extinction.To what does the Scriptural narrative attribute such phenomena? The Noahic Deluge or FLOOD.

The serpent has cast a flood of denials of the Biblical origins of the Cosmos and the Flood out of his mouth. The Earth is testifying in the affirmative to it. The Noahic Flood itself is the lynch pin of the controversy. In the words of Jesus Christ Himself:

The Alpine shepherds have a beautiful custom of ending the day by singing to one another an evening farewell. The air is so crystalline that the song will carry long distances. As the dusk begins to fall, they gather their flocks and begin to lead them down the mountain paths, singing, "Hitherto hath the Lord helped us. Let us praise His name!"

And at last with a sweet courtesy, they sing to one another the friendly farewell: "Goodnight! Goodnight!" The words are taken up by the echoes, and from side to side the song goes reverberating sweetly and softly until the music dies away in the distance.

So let us call out to one another through the darkness, till the gloom becomes vocal with many voices, encouraging the pilgrim host. You have such brilliant incite. Implicit in the use of the word "peacably" in the text of the First Amendment is the exclusion of violence or incitement to violence from its legal protection. Implicit in the use of the words "the government" in the text of the First Amendment is the exclusion of private residences and places of business for public demonstrations. (Pass the word to ACORN, "organized labor" and "Critical Mass", won't ya?) If they have a grievance, they need to bring suit in a court of law. Such demonstrations are wrongful, unlawful harrassment. (Wow! Ya'd never know it in the post-"progressive", 20th and 21st century United States of America, would ya? What they omit to address is that the most reliable way to persuade criminal aggressors that "war is not the answer" (their purported objective) is the certainty of a resolute and decisive retaliatory response (which certainty they invariably call into question). Harry S. Truman decisively persuaded the Japanese Nation that "war is not the answer" to the historically inarguable benefit of all concerned. The reason kids are clueless about civics, etc. is the same reason the "left" exists in America: material abundance. The root of the Israeli/ Palestinian conflict is that the "Palestinian" cause is rooted in a lie: that the sovereign nation of Israel occupies land that was once a sovereign "Palestinian" nation.
The solution to the conflict is to replace the lie with the truth: "Palestine" (a name stamped upon the land of Judah in subjugatory malice and contempt by the occupying Roman Empire to emphasize the forcible dissolution and dispersal of the Jewish Nation ca. 70 A.D.) was ALWAYS either occupied by some foreign power or was a sovereign Jewish Nation since the conquest of the land of CANAAN (a long vanished culture) in the days of Joshua, Moses' successor in the leadership of the Jewish People. Jihad means that there is only one solution that is acceptable: Caliphate and Sharia. When the Islamic side of a dispute is militarily inferior, meaningless negotiations ( as in the ridiculous "Two State Solution" concept) are permissible under Jihad until such time as the military inferiority ceases to be an impediment to violent conquest. This is why every time agreements are made, as in Oslo, or Camp David, (remember Anwar Sadat?) or wherever, the "Arab Street" erupts in agitations and violence. Its a game of "keep-away" until the acceptable Jihadic solution, Caliphate and Sharia, is realized.
Islam is an immanent ideology, like "liberation theology", secular humanist materialistic socialism, the New World Order, the Third Reich, Imperial Japan, the Tower of Babel, etc. Immanent ideologies envision a socio-political-economic ideal and then marshal materialistic human resources to achieve it in this material world. The bad part about immanent ideologies is that they encounter the obstacles of innate human independence, individual autonomy, and self-interest, and measures taken to overcome these obstacles result in totalitarianism of one form or another, often resulting in genocide and subsequent wars of liberation (with the remarkable exception of the Tower of Babel, where the Divine tactic of confounding their language resulted in what was essentially a bloodless coup. God's solutions work. Man's don't. Immanent ideologies are universally delusional.) The good part about immanent ideologies is that there is no good part, so we in America needn't trouble with them, unless they conflict with the transcendant ideology that found its origins in Judeo-Christian Holy Writ and its expression in our Constitution. Transcendant ideologies leave ultimate resolution of human problems out of human hands, wisely recognizing that they far exceed human limitations.

emissions, and are very likely the cause of the observed
increase in average temperatures and other climatic
changes. The effects of climate change observed to date
and projected to occur in the future – including but not
limited to the increased likelihood of more frequent and
intense heat waves, more wildfires, degraded air quality,
more heavy downpours and flooding, increased drought,
greater sea level rise, more intense storms, harm to water
resources, harm to agriculture, and harm to wildlife and
ecosystems – are effects on public health and welfare
within the meaning of the Clean Air Act. In light of the
likelihood that greenhouse gases cause these effects, and
the magnitude of the effects that are occurring and are
very likely to occur in the future, the Administrator
proposes to find that atmospheric concentrations of
greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare within
the meaning of Section 202(a) of the Clean Air Act. She
proposes to make this finding specifically with respect to
six greenhouse gases that together constitute the root of
the climate change problem: carbon dioxide, methane,
nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, and
sulfur hexafluoride.

There are three Enochs mentioned in the Bible (the highly similar name Hanoch is treated separately). The first Enoch is a son of Cain and the second Enoch is a town named after the first (Gen 4:17). The third Enoch is a son of Jared, of the line of Seth, third son of Adam and Eve. This Enoch, who famously "walked with God," is the seventh generation (where Adam is the first).

The name Enoch comes from the verb (hanak 693) meaning dedicate, begin. Fuerst reports additional meanings of imprint, pierce into, instruct, make wise. Derivatives are (hanik 693a) trained servant; (hanukka 693b), dedication. This noun reappears in Hanukkah, the still celebrated Feast Of Dedication (John 10:22).
Remarkably, the root (hnk 692) also yields the derivative (hek 692a), palate, mouth, with connotation of speech.

His thesis on humanism v. the God of the Bible was synopsized by Rabbi Bernis as a change in thinking "from a 'six' to a 'seven' ". Mr. Bernis said "Our goal is to get from a six to a seven". Trite, but carnal. ("Our goal is to get..." = human effort.) He is on to something, however.

"David Freddoso's magnificent new book, "The Case Against Barack Obama," describes the forefather to "community organizers" like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton — the famed Saul Alinsky.


Alinsky is sort of the George Washington of "community organizers." If there were an America-hater's Mount Rushmore, Saul Alinsky would be on it. He tried to hire Hillary to work for him right out of Wellesley. A generation later, those who had trained with Alinsky did hire Obama as a community organizer.


In Freddoso's book, he quotes from the dedication in the first edition of Alinsky's seminal book, "Rules for Radicals," where Alinsky wrote:


"Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgment to the very first radical: From all our legends, mythology and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom —Lucifer."


I suppose it could have been worse. He could have dedicated his book to George Soros.


Even liberals eventually figured out that they shouldn't be praising Satan in public, so the Lucifer-as-inspiration paragraph was cut from later editions of Alinsky's book. (But on the bright side, MSNBC adopted as its motto: "Who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins — or which is which.")

It is evident from Lamech's musical composition that the sin that devoured Cain has become the religion of Lamech. Contrast Lamech's seventy and sevenfold vengeance with Christ's seventy and sevenfold forgiveness. Also, compare Cainite Lamech's sevenfold/ seventy and sevenfold vengeance with Sethite Lamech's longevity of seven hundred and seventy-seven years. It is apparent that the Spirit of God is drawing a line between the two, or connecting the dots, so to speak. Cainite Lamech has the last word or epitaph on the Cainite Dynasty: we are going from bad to worse with the pedal to the metal. Case closed.

19So Israel rebelled against the house of David unto this day.



The "yoke" of Solomon and his son Rehoboam in this passage is explicitly a levy of taxes. The number "six hundred and threescore and six" refers to the annual weight in talents of gold that came to Solomon, "Beside that which chapmen and merchants brought. And all the kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon." Rehoboam vows to increase the burden of this taxation exponentially and, consequentially, Israel revolts and throws off the yoke of the "House of David" "to this day".

Solomon and Rehoboam are carnal, earthly "kings" of Israel. Earthly governments have no interest in giving the people rest. The yoke of Israel's worldly king is associated with the number "six hundred, threescore and six" and an increasingly pitiless taskmaster of a tax burden. Israel's worldly king symbolized Israel's rejection of the rule of the LORD God:

1And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel.

2Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beersheba.

3And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment.

4Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah,

5And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

6But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.

7And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

8According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee.

9Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them.

The phrase "he will take" is repeated six times in Samuel's solemn protest concerning the people's choice of king.

Messiah the Heavenly King's yoke is easy and His burden is light. He says, "Come unto Me... and I will GIVE..."

8Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:

9When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.

11Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.



In thirty-three years, God, the Son, fulfilled the Law and the Prophets down to the jot and tittle, ratified and satisfied the terms of the Mosaic, as well as the other Covenants of the Hebrew Scriptures and made a New Covenant founded in the righteousness of God imputed to mankind in exchange for the condemnation of sin imputed to the Son of God on the cross, dispossessed the Adversary and repossessed the Cosmos, and totally exonerated and defended the utter blamelessness, holiness and glory of God the Creator in everything that He has done.

If we are collectively and individually responsible for "climate change", when will our activism and sacrifices to combat it be finished? Who will declare them successful? By what criteria? Should we hold our "greenhouse gas"-emitting breath waiting for the verdict? (Note "Revs." Pat Robertson and Al Sharpton side by side in a TV spot on the "issue" of "climate change". Note also Pres. '08 candidates Obama and McCain setting aside their campaigns to tout supra-partisan "national voluntary service".)

When will the "War on Terror" (or "Overseas Contingency Operation") be over? When there are no more people to be terrorized? Or when the United States Armed Forces have been so demoralized and degraded that they are no longer a credible threat to the New World Order's agenda in the U.S. and the American People have lost all interest in liberty?

These are rhetorical questions aimed at raising the consciousness (giving you ears to hear) of my readers to perceive that these and other nebulous and open-ended "causes" and disputes are designed to preoccupy, distract and wear out the population while the apparati of absolute subjugation are entrenched in the physical and virtual (mindset) worlds. I will summarize the "New World Order" in two words: No rest! Every aspect of daily life has become politicized. A kid programming his father to conserve water when brushing his teeth by buying him a tumbler to use is making him a "better man" and the credit card company would have us believe this is "priceless". To echo Jesus' lament over the religious "thought police" of His day, how can they escape the damnation of hell? Note Matt. 23:4.

19Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

The sketch's subject was the recording of the song "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" by Blue Öyster Cult and featured guest host Christopher Walken as music producer Bruce Dickinson and Will Ferrell as fictional cowbell player Gene Frenkle.

At the climax of the sketch, Dickinson exclaims: "Guess what?! I've got a fever, and the only prescription... is more cowbell!" The band agrees to let Frenkle play the cowbell part his way. As the band begins another take, the sketch ends with a freeze frame on Frenkle with the superimposed message: "In Memoriam: Gene Frenkle: 1950-2000."
