Pathway in the Sea

Ever see a butterfly flutter by? John 3:7-8

Psalm 77:19

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

"The best way to show that a stick is crooked is not to argue about it or to spend time denouncing it, but to lay a straight stick along side it."

John Hagee and Gary Bauer discuss the criminalization of "Christianity" in this clip. John Hagee boasts of prevailing in a court case defending his first amendment rights, and laments that leftists in England threaten to sue Christians incessantly if they don't shut up about the Gospel of Jesus Christ, which is the Bible in it's totality:

1 Corinthians 15

1Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;

2By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.

3For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

4And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

5And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

6After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.

7After that, he was seen of James; then of all the apostles.

8And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time...

...11Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.

The materialistic, carnal unbelief of "Pastor" Hagee, (who endorsed John McCain as candidate for President in the 2008 campaign: see remarks on McCain's "judicial philosophy") is evident in his disobedient "judicial philosophy":

Matthew 5

40And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

...while quoting from another portion of the Jesus' sermon urging "Christians" to refuse to be forced "into the closet":

Matthew 5

13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

...when he has clearly missed the point of the very next section:

Matthew 5

15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

17Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

...and when "in the closet" is where Christians are at their absolute maximum effectiveness in affecting significant change for the wellbeing of the land in which they dwell:

Matthew 6

5And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

6But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

7But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

8Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

2 Chronicles 7

14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

1 Timothy 2

1I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

2For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

3For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

4Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

5For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

6Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

...moving on, the discussion turns to "The Matthew Shepard Act", where Gary Bauer bewails the notion that speech, such as his book or John Hagee's book or church attendance, if it were shown to be an influence in the life of a criminal who subsequently commits a "hate crime"as defined in "The Matthew Shepard Act",then those who engage in such speech will be held criminally liable for that crime. Anybody with an even rudimentary understanding of the concepts of "due process of law", "presumed innocence", prosecutorial "burden of proof", etc., let alone the First Amendment itself, can see that such a collectivization of criminal liability, in the absence of explicit criminal incitement, for such a crime, is patently unconstitutional, and, if we want to be frank and straightforward about it, is unconventional, psychological warfare against the First Amendment to the Constitution and We, the American People, and is therefore legally defined as Treason by the U. S. Constitution. However, Gary Bauer, without so much as an "on the other hand", blithely articulates his opinion that superior officers who advanced the "Ft. Hood Shooter" and failed to act on his association with, and his expressed sympathies for, Islamic radicals, should be "broken in rank" "because they are just as responsible, indirectly, for the killings that happened on that day".

Selah.

Selah.

Selah.

"Babbling idiots" doesn't even intersect the same cosmic intellectual dimension that John Hagee and Gary Bauer inhabit, hence the question:

"Can America Survive John Hagee?"

Classics: Streams in the Desert

His Billows by Mrs. Charles E. Cowman

"All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me" (Ps. 42:7).

They are HIS billows, whether they go o'er us,
Hiding His face in smothering spray and foam;
Or smooth and sparkling, spread a path before us,
And to our haven bear us safely home.

They are HIS billows, whether for our succor
He walks across them, stilling all our fear;
Or to our cry there comes no aid nor answer,
And in the lonely silence none is near.

They are HIS billows, whether we are toiling
Through tempest-driven waves that never cease,
While deep to deep with clamor loud is calling;
Or at His word they hush themselves in peace.

They are HIS billows, whether He divides them,
Making us walk dryshod where seas had flowed;
Or lets tumultuous breakers surge about us,
Rushing unchecked across our only road.

They are HIS billows, and He brings us through them;
So He has promised, so His love will do.
Keeping and leading, guiding and upholding,
To His sure harbor, He will bring us through.
--Annie Johnson Flint

Psalm 77:7-20

7Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?
8Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore?
9Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.
10And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.
11I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.
12I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings.
13Thy way, O God, is in the sanctuary: who is so great a God as our God?
14Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people.
15Thou hast with thine arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
16The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they were afraid: the depths also were troubled.
17The clouds poured out water: the skies sent out a sound: thine arrows also went abroad.
18The voice of thy thunder was in the heaven: the lightnings lightened the world: the earth trembled and shook.
19Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.
20Thou leddest thy people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Classics: Streams in the Desert

"The Lord caused the sea to go back?all that night" (Exod. 14:21).
In this verse there is a comforting message showing how God works in the dark. The real work of God for the children of Israel, was not when they awakened and found that they could get over the Red Sea; but it was "all that night."
So there may be a great working in your life when it all seems dark and you cannot see or trace, but yet God is working. Just as truly did He work "all that night," as all the next day. The next day simply manifested what God had done during the night. Is there anyone reading these lines who may have gotten to a place where it seems dark? You believe to see, but you are not seeing. In your life-progress there is not constant victory; the daily, undisturbed communion is not there, and all seems dark.
"The Lord caused the sea to go back?all that night." Do not forget that it was "all that night." God works all the night, until the light comes. You may not see it, but all that "night" in your life, as you believe God, He works.

--C. H. P.

"All that night" the Lord was working,
Working in the tempest blast,
Working with the swelling current,
Flooding, flowing, free and fast.
"All that night" God's children waited--
Hearts, perhaps in agony
With the enemy behind them,
And, in front, the cruel sea.
"All that night" seemed blacker darkness
Than they ever saw before,
Though the light of God's own presence
Near them was, and sheltered o'er.
"All that night" that weary vigil
Passed; the day at last did break,
And they saw that God was working
"All that night" a path to make.
"All that night," O child of sorrow,
Canst thou not thy heartbreak stay?
Know thy God in darkest midnight
Works, as well as in the day.

It's morning in America. Now serving breakfast.

File:Supertramp - Breakfast in America.jpg

If you will look out the window on the starboard or right side of the plane, you will see a food service worker, or unionized serf, impersonating the Statue of Liberty. In place of her torch, you will see a glass of O.J. In place of her "tabula ansata" which is inscribed with the date of "The United States' Declaration of Independence" and represents due process of law is a menu emblazoned with the words "Breakfast in America" and represents chew process of jaw and consumerism:
Child Of Vision
Supertramp

Well, who do you think you're foolin'?
You say you're havin' fun,
But you're busy going nowhere,
Just lying in the sun.
You tried to be a hero,
Commit the perfect crime.
But the dollar got you dancing,
And you're running out of time.

You're messin' up the water,
and you're rolling in the wine.
You're poisoning your body,
and you're poisoning your mind.

You gave me coca-cola.
You said it tasted good.
You watch the television.
'Cos it tells you that you should.

How can you live in this way?
-(Why do you think it's so strange?)
You must have something to say.
-(Tell me why should I change?)

There must be more than this life.
It's time we did something right.

(I say)
Child of Vision, won't you listen?
Find yourself a new ambition.

I've heard it all before.
You're saying nothing new.
I thought I saw a rainbow,
But I guess it wasn't true.
You cannot make me listen,
And I cannot make you hear.
So You find your way to heaven,
And I'll meet you when you're there.

How can you live in this way?
-(Why do you think it's so strange?)
You must have something to say.
-(Tell me why should I change ?)

We have no reason to fight,
'cos we both know that we're right.

(I say)
Child of Vision, won't you listen?
Find yourself a new ambition.

Breakfast In America
Supertramp

Take a look at my girlfriend
Cos She's the only one I've got
Not much of a girlfriend
Never seem to get a lot

Take a jumbo 'cross the water
Like to see America
See the girls in California
I'm hoping it's going to come true
But there's not a lot I can do

Could we have kippers for breakfast
Mummy dear, Mummy dear
They've got to have them in Texas
Because everyone's a millionaire

I'm a winner, I'm a sinner
Do you want my autograph
I'm a loser, what a joker
I'm playing my jokes upon you
While there's nothing better to do

Don't you look at my girlfriend
For She's the only one I got
Well Not much of a girlfriend
But Never seem to get a lot
What you got? Not a lot

Take a jumbo cross the water
Like to see America
See the girls in California
I'm hoping it's going to come true
But there's not a lot I can do

Directly behind the glass of O.J. are stacked items resembling the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center. "Take a jumbo 'cross the water", indeed. Unfortunately, nineteen adherents to the religion that defines the non-Islamic world as Dar al-Harb did precisely that. Except that they hijacked and flew them into the Twin Towers in an attack employing improvised weapons of mass destruction.
The Washington Post reported on 30 March 2006: "Jurors asked the judge in the death penalty trial of Zacarias Moussaoui today to define the term 'weapons of mass destruction' and were told it includes airplanes used as missiles". Moussaoui was indicted and tried for the use of airplanes as WMD.

Getting back to the subject of a unionized serf supplanting the icon of American liberty, let's peruse the menu:

Just Another Nervous Wreck

I'm feeling so alone now
They cut the telephone uh huh
Yeah my life is just a mess
I threw it all away now
I could have made a fortune
I lost the craving for success
And as the acrobats they tumble
So the corn begins to crumble
While in the mirror
She admires a brand new dress
Live on the second floor now
They're trying to bust the door down
Soon I'll have a new address
So much for liberation
They'll have a celebration
Yeah I've been under too much stress
And as the cloud begin to rumble
So the juggler makes his fumble
And the sun upon my wall is getting less
Don't, give a damn
Fight, while you can
Kill, shoot 'em up
They'll run amuck
Shout, Judas
Loud, they'll hear us
Soldier, sailor
They'll run for cover when they discover
Everyone's a nervous wreck now
I used to think she was so nimble
Would have bought her as symbol
But now I can't afford the pen to sign her checks
Don't give a damn............................
They'll run for cover when they discover
Everyone's a nervous wreck now
Life's just a bummer they got your number
We'll give as good as we get now
Rise from the gutter, stick with each other
We'll drive 'em over the edge now
They're gonna bleed, that's what they need
We'll get together and blow their cover
We're ready
Yeah we're ready
Yeah we're ready

Sounds like "The Coming Insurrection", don't it?
And in denial of the coming Resurrection,
Jesus Christ being the "Stranger"
with a different "point of view"
and in search of Paradise:
(Immanentizing the Christian Eschaton or divine judgment and hell fire: "Feel no sorrow, feel no shame Come tomorrow, feel no pain" )

Goodbye Stranger
Supertramp
It was an early morning yesterday
I was up before the dawn
And I really have enjoyed my stay
But I must be moving on

Like a king without a castle
Like a queen without a throne
I'm an early morning lover
And I must be moving on

Now I believe in what you say
As the undisputed truth
But I have to have things my own way
To keep me in my youth

Like a ship without an anchor
Like a slave without a chain
Just the thought of those sweet ladies
Sends a shiver through my veins

And I will go on shining
Shining like brand new
I'll never look behind me
My troubles will be few

(Goodbye stranger it's been nice)
(Hope you find your paradise)
(Tried to see your point of view)
(Hope your dreams will all come true)
(Goodbye Mary, Goodbye Jane)
(Will we ever meet again)
(Feel no sorrow, feel no shame)
(Come tomorrow, feel no pain)

Sweet devotion, (Goodbye Mary)
It's not for me (Goodbye Jane)
Just give me motion, (Will we ever)
To set me free (meet again)
Land in the ocean, (Feel no sorrow)
Far away (feel no shame)
By my chosen (Come tomorrow)
Every day (feel no pain)

So Goodbye Mary, (Goodbye Mary)
Goodbye Jane (Goodbye Jane)
Will we ever (Will we ever)
Meet again (meet again)

Now some they do and some they don't
And some you just can't tell
And some they will and some they won't
With some it's just as well

You can laugh at my behavior
That'll never bother me
Say the devil is my savior
But I don't pay no heed

And I will go on shining
Shining like brand new
I'll never look behind me
My troubles will be few

(Goodbye stranger it's been nice)
(Hope you find your paradise)
(Tried to see your point of view)
(Hope your dreams will all come true)
(Goodbye Mary, Goodbye Jane)
(Will we ever meet again)
(Feel no sorrow, feel no shame)
(Come tomorrow, feel no pain)

Sweet devotion, (Goodbye Mary)
It's not for me (Goodbye Jane)
Just give me motion, (Will we ever)
To set me free (meet again)
Land in the ocean, (Feel no sorrow)
Far away (feel no shame)
By my chosen, (Come tomorrow)
Every day (feel no pain)

Now I'm leaving, (Goodbye Mary)
Got to go, (Goodbye Jane)
Hit the road (Will we ever)
I'm sayin' once again, (meet again)
oh yes I'm leaving (Feel no sorrow)
Got to go, (feel no shame)
Got to go. (come tomorrow)
I'm sorry another day (feel no pain)
But Goodbye Mary, (Goodbye Mary)
Goodbye Jane (Goodbye Jane)
Will we ever (Will we ever)
Meet again (meet again)

Oh I'm leavin'
I've got to go
...but then there's this:

Lord Is It Mine
Supertramp

I know that there's a reason why I need to be alone
You show me there's a silent place that I can call my own
Is it mine? Oh, Lord is it mine?

You know I get so weary from the battles in this life
and as many times it seems that you're the only hope in sight
Is it mine? Oh, Lord is it mine?

When everything's dark and nothing seems right,
there's nothing to win, and there's no need to fight

I never cease to wonder at the cruelty of this land
but it seems a time of sadness is a time to understand
Is it mine? Oh, Lord is it mine?

When everything's dark and nothing seems right,
You don't have to win, and there's no need to fight

If only I could find a way
to feel your sweetness through the day
The love that shines around me could be mine,
So give us an answer, won't you,
We know what we have to do,
There must be a thousand voices trying to get through.

...except it is an "is anybody out there?" kinda prayer:

Hebrews 11

5By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
6But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
... and if you aren't careful, America may just have you for breakfast:
Gone Hollywood
Supertramp
It's just heartbreaking
I should have known that it would let me down
It's just a mind aching
I used to dream about this town

It was a sight to see
The place to be,
Where the living is easy
And the kicks can always be found

It's such a shame about it
I used to think that it would feel so good
But who's to blame about it
So many creeps in Hollywood

I'm in this dumb motel
Near the 'Taco Bell'
Without a hope in hell
I can't believe that I'm still around

Ain't nothin new in my life today
Ain't nothing true it's all gone away

I've had too much cryin', seen too much grief
I'm sick of tryin' it's beyond belief
I'm tired of talking on the telephone
They're trying to tell me that they're not at home

Ain't nothing new in my life today
I'm tired of walking from place to place
I've yet to come across a friendly face
And now the words sound familiar, as them slam the door
"You're not what we're looking for."

Ain't nothing new in my life today
Ain't nothing true it's all gone away

If we only had time, only had time for you
If we only had time, only had time for you
If we only had time, only had time for you

It was a heartbreaking
Now I ride in the big fine car
It was mind aching
I'm the talk of the boulevard

So keep your chin up boy
Forget the pain
I know you'll make it
If you try again

There's no use in quitting
When the world is waiting for you

The Logical Song
Songwriters: Davies, R; Hodgson, R;

When I was young
It seemed that life was so wonderful
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical
And all the birds in the trees
Well they'd be singing so happily
Joyfully, playfully watching me

But then they send me away
To teach me how to be sensible
Logical, responsible, practical
And then they showed me a world
Where I could be so dependable
Clinical, intellectual, cynical

There are times when all the world's asleep
The questions run too deep for such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned?
I know it sounds absurd but please tell me who I am
(From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/s/supertramp-lyrics/the-logical-song-lyrics.html)

I say, "Now what would you say for they calling you a radical
Liberal, fanatical, criminal?"
Won't you sign up your name? We'd like to feel you're
Acceptable, respectable, presentable, a vegetable
Oh, ch-ch-check it out yeah

At night when all the world's asleep
The questions run so deep for such a simple man
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned?
I know it sounds absurd but please tell me who I am
Who I am, who I am, who I am

'Coz I'm feeling so illogical
D-d-digital
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Unbelievable
B-b-bloody marvelous

Take The Long Way Home
Songwriters: Davies, R; Hodgson, R;
So you think you're a Romeo
playing a part in a picture-show
Take the long way home
Take the long way home
Cos you're the joke of the neighborhood
Why should you care if you're feeling good
Take the long way home
Take the long way home
But there are times that you feel you're part of the scenery
all the greenery is comin' down, boy
And then your wife seems to think you're part of the
furniture oh, it's peculiar, she used to be so nice.
When lonely days turn to lonely nights
you take a trip to the city lights
And take the long way home
Take the long way home
You never see what you want to see
Forever playing to the gallery
[ From : http://www.elyrics.net/read/s/supertramp-lyrics/take-the-long-way-home-lyrics.html ]
You take the long way home
Take the long way home
And when you're up on the stage, it's so unbelievable,
unforgettable, how they adore you,
But then your wife seems to think you're losing your sanity,
oh, calamity, is there no way out?
Does it feel that you life's become a catastrophe?
Oh, it has to be for you to grow, boy.
When you look through the years and see what you could
have been oh, what might have been,
if you'd had more time.
So, when the day comes to settle down,
Who's to blame if you're not around?
You took the long way home
You took the long way home...........
