Pathway in the Sea

Ever see a butterfly flutter by? John 3:7-8

Psalm 77:19

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

Selected or elected? What's the difference, precisely?

(From an e-mail to talk radio personality Glenn Beck.)

"You keep saying that the democrats are after Pres.
Bush because he was selected, not elected. During the
election controversy in Florida in 11-00 thru 12-00,I called the
Bush/Cheney campaign headquarters to make the
following point: under Florida election law,if a party
contests the election results, county canvassing
boards are to do sample recounts in 3 to 4 precincts,
and do a full county-wide recount if those samples
show an error sufficient to result in "a change in the
outcome." This was erroneously interpreted to mean
that if the sample recounts could eke out a few extra
votes in favor of Gore/ Lieberman and change the
narrow statewide tally, a full recount was
warranted. The fallacy is this: the language is clearly
intended to mean that "a change in the outcome" must
be shown in those precincts themselves, NOT in the
statewide totals. The legislature could not have had a
close national election specifically in view when they
wrote the language. It was set forth as a guideline to
the canvassing boards in the several counties of
Florida to LIMIT recounts and pertains to the purview
of those panels exclusive of results in other
jurisdictions. If, therefore, the sample recounts did
not show a change in the outcome WITHIN the sample
precincts, a full,county-wide recount was specifically
NOT to take place!(i.e.does the sample recount show a
different winner from the original count in these
precincts? If so, go county-wide,if not, end of
discussion!)It could not have been intended as a way
for a losing candidate to scrounge up a few extra
votes in a close,state-wide contest.
I gave this information to the "policy office" of
Dick Cheney at the campaign headquarters in Texas.I
saw a sound byte of an attorney for Gore/Lieberman
making an argument to the Miami-Dade canvassing board
that "they didn't have to put blinders on" and that
"this was an historic opportunity" (implying that
attorneys for Bush/ Cheney had previously made the
argument that they did.) Former Secretary of State
James Baker alluded to "whether sample recounts should
be expanded county-wide" in one of his press
conferences. It is quite reasonable to infer from this
that the word got to the Bush/Cheney team in
Florida. That should have been the end of the legal
wrangling, case closed, hail to the Chief. But it
WASN'T. For reasons unknown to me and beyond my
comprehension, the legal case was decided
politically, first by the Florida Supreme Court in
favor of Gore/Lieberman and later by the U.S. Supreme
Court in favor of Bush/Cheney. The Bush team, probably
goaded by their egos, engaged in gross grandstanding
instead of taking care of the business at hand.In so doing, they
cast a pall of suspicion over Bush's presidency that
haunts him to this day. Bush was lawfully elected,
but, thanks to his legal team, he was politically
selected by a politically split U.S. Supreme
Court.Case closed,hail to the thief.Gore/Lieberman
didn't have a case, but thanks to the Bush legal team,
they appeared to."

Note: I did an internet search of Florida election law, and the language cited appears to have been removed since the 2000 election. It was openly displayed by the news media at the time as the basis for the selective recounts of the Gore Campaign. It was obvious that they were attempting to steal the election on the Marxist theory that those who count the votes decide everything. I only saw one prominent democrat, the former ambassador to the Vatican, denounce the blatant injustice and ruthless grab for power by the liberal criminal traitors that pass themselves off as a legitimate political party in America. What is worse is that no one in EITHER party has called for the criminal prosecution of those that participated in this open attempt to unlawfully seize power on the part of the Gore/Lieberman Campaign. Why? I tend to think that the New World Order, (which Bush,in his second inaugural address, called a declaration of the Founding Fathers, though I never heard it taught as a principle of American government, but rather as a mysterious insignia on one dollar federal reserve notes identified as the "Great Seal of the United States" which did not appear until after FDR seized unconstitutional emergency executive power in the 1933 banking crisis, which was PRECIPITATED by the Federal Reserve, and ultimately benefitted the federal reserve, a privately held institution that is the "creditor beneficiary" of the national debt.) preferred to deepen and widen the chasm between the political "right" and "left" in this country in order to foment a breakdown of civic order and create a crisis to exploit for the imposition of "emergency" government measures or some form of martial law.

Any way, when James Baker alluded to "whether recounts should be expanded county-wide" and the Gore-Lieberman lawyers argued about the canvassing board in Miami- Dade having to keep blinders on (which meant that they were bound to limit recounts according to a change in the outcome within their sample precincts and not looking at the close statewide tally) I basked in my fifteen minutes of anonymous fame, and felt that through the delay of the Miami-Dade recounts, because of foot-dragging by the canvassing board, I may have changed the course of history, because Gore -Lieberman had to argue their cases with Bush still in a narrow lead. I lost my civil rights in a malicious prosecution, but God arranged for my little voice to shift the course of history. My God RULES!

In an amusing side note, I mocked Jesse Jackson's manufacturing of racial injustice during this episode by changing his allegation (there's enough allegators in Florida already, Mr. Jackson) that black voters were "disenfranchised", to the outrage that Kathleen Harris, et al. were "dissin' french fries!" This went from phonetic frolicking to prophetic rollicking in the run-up to "Iraqi Freedom",when conservative America did precisely that in renaming "french fries" "freedom fries"! Now THAT'S entertainment!
Psalm 16
8I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.
9Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoiceth: my flesh also shall rest in hope.
10For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
Ephesians 1
17That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
18The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
19And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Ephesians 2
4But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,
5Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
6And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
7That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
