The root of the Israeli/ Palestinian conflict is that the "Palestinian" cause is rooted in a lie: that the sovereign nation of Israel occupies land that was once a sovereign "Palestinian" nation.
The solution to the conflict is to replace the lie with the truth: "Palestine" (a name stamped upon the land of Judah in subjugatory malice and contempt by the occupying Roman Empire to emphasize the forcible dissolution and dispersal of the Jewish Nation ca. 70 A.D.) was ALWAYS either occupied by some foreign power or was a sovereign Jewish Nation since the conquest of the land of CANAAN (a long vanished culture) in the days of Joshua, Moses' successor in the leadership of the Jewish People. There has never been a sovereign "Palestinian" nation nor indigenous "Palestinian" culture. The fabrication of the "Palestinian cause" is a foil for what is otherwise naked and malicious Islamic bigotry, intolerance and aggression, or, to cloak it in its Islamic "religious" camouflage: Jihad.
Jihad means that there is only one solution that is acceptable: Caliphate and Sharia. When the Islamic side of a dispute is militarily inferior, meaningless negotiations ( as in the ridiculous "Two State Solution" concept) are permissible under Jihad until such time as the military inferiority ceases to be an impediment to violent conquest. This is why every time agreements are made, as in Oslo, or Camp David, (remember Anwar Sadat?) or wherever, the "Arab Street" erupts in agitations and violence. Its a game of "keep-away" until the acceptable Jihadic solution, Caliphate and Sharia, is realized.
Islam is an immanent ideology, like "liberation theology", secular humanist materialistic socialism, the New World Order, the Third Reich, Imperial Japan, the Tower of Babel, etc. Immanent ideologies envision a socio-political-economic ideal and then marshal materialistic human resources to achieve it in this material world. The bad part about immanent ideologies is that they encounter the obstacles of innate human independence, individual autonomy, and self-interest, and measures taken to overcome these obstacles result in totalitarianism of one form or another, often resulting in genocide and subsequent wars of liberation (with the remarkable exception of the Tower of Babel, where the Divine tactic of confounding their language resulted in what was essentially a bloodless coup. God's solutions work. Man's don't. Immanent ideologies are universally delusional.) The good part about immanent ideologies is that there is no good part, so we in America needn't trouble with them, unless they conflict with the transcendant ideology that found its origins in Judeo-Christian Holy Writ and its expression in our Constitution. Transcendant ideologies leave ultimate resolution of human problems out of human hands, wisely recognizing that they far exceed human limitations.
Here are a couple of examples of transcendant ideology from Scripture:

Jeremiah 29
4Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;

5Build ye houses, and dwell in them; and plant gardens, and eat the fruit of them;

6Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished.

7And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.

8For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed.

9For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.

10For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

14And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.



John 18

33Then Pilate entered into the judgment hall again, and called Jesus, and said unto him, Art thou the King of the Jews?

34Jesus answered him, Sayest thou this thing of thyself, or did others tell it thee of me?

35Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Thine own nation and the chief priests have delivered thee unto me: what hast thou done?

36Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.

37Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.

38Pilate saith unto him, What is truth? And when he had said this, he went out again unto the Jews, and saith unto them, I find in him no fault at all.



The truth is that Islam cannot live in peace with its neighbors and remain authentic Islam. Regrettably, as an immanent ideology, it must either prevail or be destroyed. Negotiations are only steps on the path to the former. If that is not the outcome we are seeking, then the latter is the only choice. ( This "War on Terror" is a pointless, wasteful, totalitarianistic, delusional, immanent solution in its own right. The world will be greatly relieved when we as a nation return to the common sense notion that we are not, in fact, God.) Speak the truth about the "Palestinian cause" and its Jihadist objectives, and choose this day which outcome an Obama Administration will seek. An immanent Islamic "peace" or a transcendant American peace similar to the post WWII era? Win or ultimately lose? The longer we put it off, the more difficult the decision, and the effort to win, will be. In either case, let's dispense with costly, delusional, immanent solutions and return to a pragmatic, affordable, workable, transcendant national policy going forward.
