Pathway in the Sea

Ever see a butterfly flutter by? John 3:7-8

Psalm 77:19

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

"The best way to show that a stick is crooked is not to argue about it or to spend time denouncing it, but to lay a straight stick along side it."

Thad Jones Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on Who you want to please) there are times (practically always) that we must decide whether we are to offend the Lord or the world. Seems like a no-brainer, but it's a ticklish one.
Thad Jones Messianic Rabbi Kirt Schneider (www.discoveringthejewishjesus.com) is doing a series on Joshua 1:9. The theme is how fear is displeasing to God. It turns out that while the ten spies were chickening out at the threshold to the Promised Land, the inhabitants of the land were quaking in their boots in terror of the children of Israel. Rahab the Harlot informed Joshua's two spies of this when they were her "guests".
Thad Jones It is also interesting that Jesus Christ's only great grandmas named in Matthew's genealogy,Rahab and Ruth (Matthew 1: 5And Salmon begat Booz of Rachab; and Booz begat Obed of Ruth...) are gentiles of low degree, and it is emphasized in the narrative: "the HARLOT";"the MOABITESS"(Deuteronomy 23
3An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:
4Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.
5Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.
6Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.
Nehemiah 13
1On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;
2Because they met not the children of Israel with bread and with water, but hired Balaam against them, that he should curse them: howbeit our God turned the curse into a blessing.
Thad Jones Justification and glorification by grace through faith. Our God is mighty to save!

Thad Jones Oops! Some other great grandmas are also noted:3And Judas begat Phares and Zara of Thamar
Thad Jones ‎6...David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
Thad Jones We all know about scandalous Bathsheba, but can anyone tell me how Tamar the mother of Pharez fits the theme. (That nasty 'ho'. Genesis 38)
Thad Jones ‎(..and for all you Orthodox Jews out there, say hello to Tamar's "bastard" son Pharez, the progenitor of your blessed King David. Who does Pharez remind me of?
John 8:41.Who is Jesus' Daddy?
Genesis 38:24-30

24And it came to pass about three months after, that it was told Judah, saying, Tamar thy daughter in law hath played the harlot; and also, behold, she is with child by whoredom. And Judah said, Bring her forth, and let her be burnt.

25When she was brought forth, she sent to her father in law, saying, By the man, whose these are, am I with child: and she said, Discern, I pray thee, whose are these, the signet, and bracelets, and staff.

26And Judah acknowledged them, and said, She hath been more righteous than I; because that I gave her not to Shelah my son. And he knew her again no more.

27And it came to pass in the time of her travail, that, behold, twins were in her womb.

28And it came to pass, when she travailed, that the one put out his hand: and the midwife took and bound upon his hand a scarlet thread, saying, This came out first.

29And it came to pass, as he drew back his hand, that, behold, his brother came out: and she said, How hast thou broken forth? this breach be upon thee: therefore his name was called Pharez.

30And afterward came out his brother, that had the scarlet thread upon his hand: and his name was called Zarah.

Thad Jones Tamar and Pharez are noted here as well: Ruth 4
