Pathway in the Sea

Ever see a butterfly flutter by? John 3:7-8

Psalm 77:19

Thy way is in the sea, and thy path in the great waters, and thy footsteps are not known.

"The best way to show that a stick is crooked is not to argue about it or to spend time denouncing it, but to lay a straight stick along side it."

As human beings can dictate the means, but not the ends, the means are their ends, and the "event" remains, as the Father of the United States of America surmised, "in the hand of God".

Hitler's Third Reich perfectly demonstrated this thesis. It rose to earthly power. It aimed to achieve as one of its ends the eradication of the Jewish People. It prescribed the means of concentrating and killing them in detention camps and employed its totalitarian powers to locate and apprehend them. The "event", or outcome, however, proved to be out of its hands, and, in fact, in the nail-pierced hand of the God it despised and presumed to defy. It was relieved of power by forces beyond its control, its ends unrealized, and its means, the only ends it ever had any real control over, exposed in all of their atrocious criminality for all the world to see.
"Hand of God ?" you ask. At the very threshold of the presumptive triumph of humanistic contempt for, as Psalm 2 puts it, Jehovah and His Anointed, or Christ, the Third Reich fulfilled a classic role in the Biblical pattern for the return of dispersed Jews to the land that God promised Abraham: a satanic preemptive attempt by the dominant world power to wipe them out actually contributing to the Divine "event":

An open letter to the people of the Jews.

George Washington Quotes

14 May, 1787, Speech at Constitutional Convention, Philadelphia.

It is too probable that no plan we propose will be adopted. Perhaps another dreadful conflict is to be sustained. If to please the people, we offer what we ourselves disapprove, how can we afterwards defend our work? Let us raise a standard to which the wise and the honest can repair. The event is in the hand of God.

Hebrews 10

30For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.

31It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

1 Peter 5

1The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:

2Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;

3Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being examples to the flock.

4And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

5Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.

6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

7Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

8Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

10But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

11To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
